STATEMENT

I’m currently exploring biomorphic forms using clay as my primary medium. By abstracting the natural and material world, I’m creating personalities for each of my sculptures. Some are humorous, some sensual, and some playful, organic, and unexpected. The scale of my work, large and small, reflects a life-size quality and intimacy.

Working with clay ultimately forgoes the element of control. While I love to the medium for this reason, I’m drawn to create art where I have complete authority over the finished piece - a result of my OCD. I’ve explored this internal relationship through the process of mapping out large scale paintings. I paint using bright colors, texture, and blank spaces as a way to puzzle together imaginations of my compulsive mind.
